ScratchJr is a wonderful platform for kids to learn programming and create their own stories. And, of course, custom images can add a lot of fun and creativity to their projects!
To import custom images in ScratchJr Desktop, follow these steps:
Method 1: Using the "Paint" Tool
- Open ScratchJr Desktop on your computer.
- Create a new project or open an existing one.
- Click on the "Paint" tool icon (looks like a paintbrush) in the top toolbar.
- In the Paint window, click on the "Image" tab.
- Click on the "Import" button and select the custom image you want to use from your computer's file directory.
- Resize the image as needed by dragging the corners or using the zoom buttons.
- Click "OK" to import the image.
Method 2: Using the "Sprites" Tab
- Open ScratchJr Desktop on your computer.
- Create a new project or open an existing one.
- Go to the "Sprites" tab (represented by a small icon that looks like a sprite).
- Click on the "+" button at the bottom of the Sprites window.
- In the "Add Sprite" window, click on the "Upload Image" button.
- Select the custom image you want to use from your computer's file directory.
- Resize the image as needed by dragging the corners or using the zoom buttons.
- Click "OK" to import the image.
Tips and Limitations
- ScratchJr Desktop supports importing PNG, GIF, BMP, and JPEG images.
- The maximum size of an imported image is 2048 x 1024 pixels.
- If you're having trouble importing a specific image, try converting it to a supported format or reducing its size.
- Imported custom images can be used as sprites in your ScratchJr projects.
